Hearing Evaluations

CI – we comprise the evolution of cochlear implants to determine the efficacy of new devices and programming strategies also we develop alternative programming strategies, particularly for use in very young, language limited children.

MTBI – our research with mtbi (mild traumatic brain injury) studies the effects of traumatic insults to the inner ear and surrounding neurological structures. The traumatic insults of main interest include blast brain injury, blunt brain injury, noise, and toxins and develop a point of injury test device to determine presence of mTBI

HEREDITARY DEAFNESS – research of genetic factors in deafness has refined the molecular mechanism in human hearing that translates to genetic discoveries into identification of genes and clinical practice.

TINNITUS – Counseling, tinnitus retraining therapy are part of our tinnitus research often used to help patients. Also the evaluation and confirmation of the efficacy of intratympanic treatment for acute peripheral tinnitus.
