The Department of Otolaryngology is home to the University of Miami Ear Institute, one of the busiest centers of its kind in the United States thanks, in part, to its Cochlear Implant Center. This premier center for clinical care and research on cochlear implants helps treat a variety of hearing, balance and communication disorders. The Ear Institute also houses the Center for Advanced Treatment of Meniere’s Disease and Balance Disorders, the Clinical Audiology Center and the Hearing Aid Center.
